Ailey Trio – January 9, 2013
Comprised of three dancers from Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, the Ailey Trio presentation is part lecture and part informal performance designed to provide a dance experience that focuses positively on the beauty, commitment and athleticism of the dancer.
Setting the Stage – February 21, 2013
Presented each season during Black History Month, Setting the Stage provides an opportunity to enjoy stunning live performances alternating with a fascinating narrated slide show that walks through African-American dance history as it is inter-woven into the broader tapestry of black history.
AileyCamp The Group and Second through Sixth Grade Programs Annual Spring Concert - May 1, 2013
AileyCamp the Group was established in 1995 to give AileyCamp graduates an opportunity to continue their dance training year-round throughout high school, The KCFAA Studio Program was created in 2007 and offers dance instruction to second through sixth grade students. Join us for this fun and energized performance at the end of each school year.
AileyCamp Final Performance – July, 2013
Created in 1989 by KCFAA with Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater’s Founder Alvin Ailey, AileyCamp now reaches youth in the urban core at sites on both sides of the state line. You’re sure to be touched by the AileyCamp Final Performance, which brings 180 vibrant young people together for a moving presentation on a professional stage, culminating their intensive six weeks at camp.
Ailey II Residency – October, 2013
KCFAA presents Ailey II in a residency of KC’s most diverse arts performances and community outreach. In addition to these activities, members are invited to help KCFAA receive the Company with an annual welcome party.
