Benefit for Arts Education
In 1999, KCFAA began presenting Ailey II in public performances and the KCFAA Benefit for Arts Education. Once again diverse ethnic and corporate communities come together for pre-performance cocktails followed by an edgy, fresh Ailey II company performance in the intimacy of a historic theater and a hot dance after party with the company. Our benefit is the most edgy, fresh, fun and inclusive fundraiser in town.
The Benefit Structure
KCFAA's benefit, like its Gala, serves two purposes - to raise funds necessary to sustain KCFAA's year-round programs, and to bring together people from all backgrounds. The Benefit ususally takes place on a Friday evening where there is a pre-performance cocktail reception at the theater and an inspiring performance. Following there is a lively, after party where guests eat, drink and take their inspiration to the dance floor where the Ailey II dancers are the stars!
Two spectacular events. One vital mission. Annual Gala or Benefit.
KCFAA’s annual major fundraising event takes place during the fall residency of Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater or Ailey II and benefits KCFAA’s year-round arts education programs that reach more than 35,000 Kansas Citians each year. The Benefit for Arts Education takes place every two years (2009, 2011, 201 etc.) The Gala for Arts Education takes place in alternate years (2008, 2010, 2012 etc.).
KCFAA's next Benefit will take place during the 2009 fall residency of Ailey II.
